ScienceSoft hosts Microsoft Azure Catch-up

On 15 January 2015 the company ScienceSoft hosted Microsoft Azure Catch-up. The invited speaker Mr. Francois Boucher, Technical Team Lead from the Canadian company Lixar IT offered the participants an insight into the today’s Azure and all that it has in stock for software engineers.
Over 120 participants visited the event. Besides Microsoft-oriented software engineers the event topics attracted alternative stacks developers, QA engineers and other IT professions.
In the opening speech Maxim Saplin (head of Microsoft development at ScienceSoft) shared achievements and highlighted ScienceSoft expertise with Microsoft Cloud. Company’s portfolio features big experience of implementing cloud solution on the Azure platform. One of the brightest examples is the migration of accounting software from the On-Premise/Desktop delivery model to the cloud SaaS/Web model - watch the demo.
Shortly Francois took the floor and started an engaging 2h seminar. Though we planned to have it shorter people were interested in seeing more hands-on/on-screen demos. Frank finished his part with an extra sample of creating a mobile application using Visual Studio Online and leveraging Azure back-end. The following topical questions and answers were touched upon:
