On cloud nine: advanced Azure workshop from ScienceSoft and partners
Published:
On 20 March 2015 Microsoft teamed with ScienceSoft to organize a full-day Azure workshop following in the footsteps of the successful Microsoft Azure Catch-up earlier this year. Microsoft Azure, Notification Hub, Telemetry, Machine Learning, Mobile Services and even Xamarin cross-platform mobile development - all of these topics came into focus at the event.
The event fit in talks and practical demos delivered by experts from Microsoft, ScienceSoft, and DevRain Solutions. The workshop gathered more than 50 professionals ranging from software engineers (with or without Azure experience) and cloud developers familiar with Azure CloudServices to mobile developers and others craving for hands-on exploration of Azure possibilities.
In the opening talk Vladimir Yunev (Microsoft) gave the participants a deep introduction in the Azure infrastructure services and went on to put into perspective different options for data storage, data procession and analysis in the cloud.
ScienceSoft’s colleagues from DevRain Solutions shared their experience of Azure machine learning and using Mobile Services as a backend for mobile applications.
ScienceSoft team put into spotlight creative ways in which Azure can drive customer-oriented business. Among the highlights there were the presentations about sending push notifications with the help of Azure Notification Hub by Alexander Laysha, Lead .NET Developer, and about telemetry in Azure by Igor Yastrebov, .NET Project Manager. After that ScienceSoft keynote speakers together with Aleksandr Pivovar, .NET Developer, showed how Azure hosted backend with out-of-the-box telemetry blend together on 3 different mobile clients (iOS, Android and Windows Phone) created using Xamarin.Forms – a sound demonstration of Microsoft platform productivity.
The event was featured as part of Microsoft Develop Tour (#msdevtour) – a technological expedition by Microsoft specialists and industry gurus with conferences and educational events across 13 biggest cities in the region.
