Multi-Platform Car Racing Mobile App Testing
Customer
Founded in the USA over half a century ago, the Customer is a world-leading organization that produces and sanctions auto racing events in the Northern America and Europe. Strong on the digital media side, the company also runs the website that is currently one of the major multimedia sport news platforms.
Challenge
The Customer came up with the idea to create a multilingual mobile application for tracking racing events online using sport news broadcasting services. The application was to be tested using real-time results of live sport events, and for this the organization turned to ScienceSoft’s test engineers.
Solution
Developed for the iOS and Android platforms, the application was integrated with sport news broadcast services and provided a multilingual interface in English and Spanish languages.
The team carried out functional, regression and localization testing on different platforms in stable conditions using local test data sets. To test the application with real-time racing events as the source of test data, the team was scheduling concurrent test sessions during the races. The app was tested on several devices simultaneously, and the reveals issues were posted to the bug tracking system right away. This also helped to test how well the app had been integrated with the broadcasting services.
The project processes and workflows followed the SCRUM methodology with each sprint lasting from 2 to 3 weeks.
Results
ScienceSoft’s team of testing engineers successfully delivered test design; functional, regression and localization testing; test results reporting; bug review and verification for a multi-lingual, multi-platform mobile application using real-time racing events data. Since then, the application was released and went on to gain over 1 million installs and counting.
