SharePoint Intranet Redesign to Reflect Brand Identity and Improve UX
Client
The Client is a group of companies providing IT consulting services, including the development and implementation of business solutions based on Microsoft technologies.
Challenge
One of the company’s clients – a multinational car manufacturer with $80 billion revenue and 200,000 employees – needed to have one of their intranet SharePoint sites, used by over 200 sales managers, branded in line with the corporate style. ScienceSoft pitched in to develop a new design with an improved usability and deploy it without any downtime.
Solution
As the end Client did not provide a comprehensive guideline for the future design, ScienceSoft team of a Designer and two SharePoint experts came up with several user interface options. The development process went on in three main stages:
Prototyping: creating the mockups to provide the end Client with a basic idea of how the design would look like in the real life.
Design: creating multiple master pages that contained markup and defined the look and feel for all pages on the site.
Solution deployment: seamlessly installing and configuring the solution in the company’s environment as well as providing the end Client with instructions for further SharePoint support.
Results
The solution was delivered successfully in the course of two months. The end Client received a portal design consistent with the company’s brand identity and offering a better user experience.
