The Client is a German metal parts manufacturer with $800 mln revenue.
Challenge
Struggling with demand fluctuations, the Client wanted to prioritize the product categories. With this challenge in mind, the Client needed a highly qualified BI team to perform a comprehensive data analysis. Additionally, the project was to be implemented quickly and with the minimal technology stack.
Solution
ScienceSoft’s BI team analyzed the Client’s Excel and flat files embracing the data for 2 years, created a pivot table and loaded the data into it. After that, the team cleaned the data and created analytical reports and charts with the data broken down according to the Client’s needs.
The reports and charts demonstrated the following:
- Revenue
- Monthly revenue per product group
- Income by customer group (permanent vs. one-time customers)
- Total quantity of metal parts produced per month
Since the Client wanted to involve the minimal technology stack, ScienceSoft suggested using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Excel PowerPivot only.
Results
Thanks to the delivered data analysis, the Client was able to decide on focus categories, and consequently streamline the business. The other Client’s requirements were also met: the project was delivered quickly and with the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Excel PowerPivot only.
