Senior Executives Required Clear Reports on Cybersecurity Management
The bank's senior executives requested comprehensive reports on the organization's cybersecurity posture and network vulnerability management over the past three years. As the internal IT team lacked the necessary skills to transform their security logs and documentation into user-friendly reports, they sought external assistance to complete the task. As the team was already familiar with ScienceSoft after the previous collaboration on SharePoint Intranet customization, the bank turned to us again for business intelligence services.
Delivering 5 Power BI Reports Tailored to C-Level Needs
ScienceSoft's team conducted several interviews with the Client's cybersecurity engineers to elicit requirements for the reports. The engineers already knew what reports they wanted to create but lacked the skills to import the data from SharePoint intranet to a reporting tool and design clear, informative visuals.
Since the Client had a Microsoft-based environment, ScienceSoft suggested building the reports in Power BI for easy data integration and cost-effectiveness. In just two days, our team studied the Client's cybersecurity management data (incident and user activity logs, network traffic patterns, patch history) and designed five automated reports tailored to the needs of the bank's executives:
Incident management report
The report breaks down cybersecurity threat origins by country and gives an overview of the resulting monthly logged incidents, the resulting help desk tickets, and their resolution rates.
Security management report
The report shows trends in antivirus coverage across different hardware units (e.g., employee laptops and workstations). The report also features statistics on software updates by type and the number of installed patches over time.
Phishing simulation report
The report compares the results of monthly phishing attack simulations, including the volume of clicks on phishing links and the calculated phishing probability percentage (PPP).
Inherent risk profile report
The report demonstrates the correlation between the suggested and actual risk levels across different categories (e.g., external threats, online products and services) and reflects the compound risk level for the whole network.
Cybersecurity maturity report
The report reflects the level of cybersecurity maturity across nine domains and sub-domains (e.g., detection, response and mitigation, escalation and reporting, risk management). The report also allows users to benchmark the maturity level of each domain against the average maturity score of the bank's peers.
