Multilingual Corporate Portal Built on Joomla

Client

The Client is a Finnish IT company. Its entire business model is built around the delivery of centralized and standardized IT infrastructure services via the Internet.

Challenge

The Client needed a corporate web portal that had to support multiple languages. Initially, there were three languages (Dutch, English and Finnish), but it was required to provide an opportunity to add more languages.

An additional requirement was that after language selection not only article language should be changed, but also graphic design and functionality. For example, the Google Map should display the information according to the selected language.

Solution

The website was created on Joomla Framework. For multilingual interface ScienceSoft used one of the most powerful component for joomla - Joom!Fish. This sophisticated extension for the Joomla allows presenting a website in multiple languages or better localizations.

The website includes all the components that were required, such as different articles, a contact form, Google maps, presentation video, etc. For some features Ajax and jQuery js framework was used.

Results

The Client got a very user-friendly corporate website that meets all the company’s requirements.
