Challenge

Back in the day of their digital launch, the Client opted for Magento as an underlying ecommerce platform. An advanced system, Magento required ongoing support to function well and align with the specific business needs, so the Client made sure to have a dedicated Magento support team in-house.

Upgrading to Magento 2.4

Magento 2.4 release came with a total of 30+ security fixes and 100+ functional fixes to core code. However, the quick delivery of these improvements to the Client was challenged by a significant amount of custom code (about 20%) in their solution. Our developers studied the backward incompatible changes between Magento 2.3 and 2.4 versions and worked on custom plugins and custom methods individually to make them compatible with the newly installed Magento version and functioning properly upon the upgrade.
