Migration from Microsoft Exchange 2003 to 2010 to Build Fault-Tolerant Infrastructure

SafetyComputing AS is a Norwegian internet service provider with a strong portfolio: from highly advanced communication solutions and consulting services to a wide range of hardware and software. The company acts as a single access point for local businesses with demand for IT services.
Challenge
The Client was looking for a partner who could assist it delivering high quality solutions to its clients. SafetyComputing needed a flexible and proactive supplier who would be familiar with cutting edge technologies and could carry out hosting migration from Microsoft Exchange 2003 to Microsoft Exchange 2010.
This new platform had been selected by the Client’s management team to improve their services by:
- granting clients one solid system with native management tools;
- enlarging the list of supported mobile devices;
- enhancing fault tolerance level.
All works were to be carried out on life system.
Solution
ScienceSoft applied an established process to manage the entire migration project from assessment and analysis to development and quality assurance procedures. After the preparation phase the vendor’s team calculated required hardware capacities and prepared IT infrastructure. Having accomplished deployment and initial settings of the mailing system, ScienceSoft team carried out user accounts migration from the old system to the new one.
Results
Within tight budget limits, SafetyComputing AS got a ready-to-use new infrastructure with a high fault tolerance level on Microsoft Exchange 2010 basis. In a short period of time the company’s end clients got new functionality without any inconveniences caused by platform migration.
Having chosen ScienceSoft, the Client gained a reliable IT-partner which was able to offer additionally a web-portal for Microsoft Exchange 2010 management.
