Island Guide App for iOS and Android
Client
Peek-a-boo Software is a Swedish company that specializes in web services, programming and mobile applications’ development.
Challenge
Upon analyzing a list of potential mobile app development services, Peek-a-boo turned to ScienceSoft. The Client requested an app for Android and IOS that would allow users to discover manifold information about the island of Gotland in Sweden and its infrastructure.
Solution
ScienceSoft team developed the app that provides users with helpful information about the island as well as places of interest such as: beaches, parking spaces, attractions, restaurants, hotels, schedules and so on. All the places are split into several categories to facilitate the search. In addition, the app allows using free text search to find necessary information. The results of the search can be displayed either in alphabetical order or ordered by remoteness from the user’s present location (shown as a map or as driving directions).
Results
The app was developed in accordance with planned deadline and without exceeding the budget. The Gotland app was published to the AppStore and Google Play as a free app. As it was the only Gotland guide it found a broad response among the island’s visitors.
