3-Year-Long Team Augmentation with Magento Development Expertise

The Client offers ecommerce development services and works with several market-leading ecommerce platforms.
Challenge
If a new customer comes when the Client has all of their in-house ecommerce developers assigned to ongoing projects, they outsource the development to third parties. To maintain the high standard of development services, the Client selects only development vendors with the years-long ecommerce expertise and a senior qualification level.
For one of their clients, the Client needed to augment their team with senior Magento expertise and was looking for a reliable vendor for the task.
Cooperation
The Client turned to ScienceSoft as a well-established Magento development vendor with available expert-level resources to outsource. We studied the Client’s requirements and helped augment the Client’s team with required expertise capable of quick adaptation to new environments.
Since starting cooperation with the Client in September 2017, ScienceSoft’s resources contributed to 13+ projects. We worked with different Magento products: Magento Open Source, Magento Commerce, Magento Commerce Cloud. The tasks performed were varied and can be grouped as follows:
- Reviewing code created by other team members.
- Estimating the work scope and completion time for assigned tasks.
- Detecting performance bugs and providing improvement recommendations.
- Configuring, installing, upgrading third-party extensions.
- Coding custom extensions when no third-party solution could meet a specific business need.
- Implementing interactive and static visual elements on the front end.
- Releasing the updates to production.
Results
Staff augmentation with senior Magento expertise for more than 3 years helped the Client deliver quality services to all their clients without growing their in-house development team and supported the company’s growth.
