SharePoint Portal to Create Collaborative Environment for 1,500+ Employees
Client
The Client is an IT-solutions provider that specializes in customizing Microsoft products. The end Client is Nordea Bank, one of the largest financial services group in Europe headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. With the total assets of $700+ bn, Nordea is listed among the world’s top 50 banks and ranked the 132nd among the world’s 2,000 biggest public companies according to the Forbes Global 2000.
Challenge
The end Client was looking for a SharePoint development company to implement a corporate SharePoint portal in 9 branches located in different regions. The portal was needed to improve the general quality of employees’ socializing, to encourage communication and to consolidate employees from separate offices and departments.
Solution
The project was focused on customizing the SharePoint portal according to the Client’s requirements. The portal was uniquely designed in compliance with the company’s brand book, which enhanced the user adoption significantly.
Customized collaboration spaces were created at all the levels:
- a personal site for each employee;
- team sites and community sites for each department and work group;
- corporate news and digests enabled on the main collaboration site.
To diversify the portal’s functionality, ScienceSoft used customized web-parts dedicated to employees’ birthdays, corporate ratings, votes and polls. The latter were of a great importance for the HR department to get accurate data on the employees’ satisfaction level.
Results
The Client received a full-functional corporate portal that became the central socializing platform and a strong consolidation tool. The portal united more than 1,500 employees by offering them an ultimate collaboration experience and facilitating their internal communication.
